Publication Ethic
The statement of scientific publication ethics is a code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely the managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication upholds three ethical values in publication, namely 1) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in managing the publication; 2) Fairness, which grants authorship rights to those who are entitled to it; and 3) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.
The Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
Determining the name of the journal, scope of knowledge, frequency of publication, and accreditation if necessary. Determining the membership of the editorial board. Defining the relationship between the publisher, editor, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract. Respecting confidentiality, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and peer reviewers. Applying norms and regulations regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright. Reviewing journal policies and communicating them to authors, editorial board members, peer reviewers, and readers. Creating a code of conduct guide for editors and peer reviewers. Publishing the journal regularly. Ensuring the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication. Building a network of cooperation. Preparing licensing and other legal aspects.
Tasks and Responsibilities of the Editor
Meeting the needs of readers and authors, Striving for sustainable improvement of publication quality, Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published works, Promoting objective freedom of expression, Maintaining the academic track record integrity of authors, Providing corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies if necessary, Responsible for the style and format of written works, while the content and all statements in the written works are the responsibility of the author, Actively seeking the opinions of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve publication quality, Encouraging evaluations of the journal if there are findings, Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to attach an approved Ethics Clearance form from the Ethics Clearance Commission, Supporting initiatives to educate researchers on publication ethics, Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and peer reviewers and improving them to increase responsibility and reduce errors, Maintaining an open mind towards new opinions or views that may conflict with personal views, Not maintaining personal opinions, authors, or third parties that can result in subjective decisions, Encouraging authors to revise their works until they are deemed worthy of publication.
Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
Receive assignments from the editor to review a manuscript and provide feedback to the editor, as a basis for determining the suitability of a manuscript for publication. Reviewers may not review manuscripts in which they are directly or indirectly involved. Maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating correction results, suggestions, and recommendations by providing constructive criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations. Encourage the author to improve their manuscript. Review the revised manuscript according to established standards and guidelines for scientific research (data collection methods, authorship validity, conclusions, etc.). Review manuscripts in a timely manner according to the style of the publication based on scientific standards.
Author/Writer's Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that those listed as authors/writers meet the criteria as authors/writers. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and details. Disclose the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly. Explain limitations in the research. Respond professionally and promptly to comments made by peer reviewers. Inform the editor if they intend to withdraw their written work. Make a statement that the submitted work to be published is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not currently under consideration for publication by another publisher.
